Thai Bundle Massage (Luk Pra Kob)
Imagine lying in total relaxation. The aromatic tang of lemongrass fills the air along with other fragrant herbs you can’t identify. You feel a warm luscious pressure on that part of your back that was aching. And the pain melts away. The delicious pressure moves away and works its magic on another stiff spot. And you think you’re in heaven. What you’re experiencing is massage with a Thai herbal compress.
The compresses are applied to the acupressure points of the body. Here they work to free up congested pathways and allow the free flow of energy around the body. According to the tenets of traditional Thai medicine, blockage of these pathways (which are like acupressure meridians) is causes of disease and bodily malfunction. These bundles include powerful ingredients that are from natural origins like sweet basil, plai, Kaffir Lime, Turmeric, Camphor, etc. You get to take home the compresses, to use again another 1-2 times.
All above treatments begin with a foot soak and foot scrub. This ritual melts away tension and stress and quiets the mind, to help you relax and fully receive the therapeutic benefits of the treatments.
An ancient Chinese practice that warms and promotes the free flow of Qi and blood in the body, and is typically used to treat musculoskeletal disorders such as pain in the lower back, shoulders, and legs; muscle tightness and strain as well as soft tissue injuries. Other disorders, such as gastrointestinal disease, menstrual disorders, the common cold/flu,cough and asthma, also respond well to this therapy. While cupping does cause mild bruising, it is part of the therapeutic process. Bruising occurs on areas that are holding stagnations. The areas that have more stagnation will leave darker bruises than the areas that have less. These bruises are temporary and not harmful. They usually disappear altogether within 3-5 days.
